ABOUT US
The East Brooklyn Business Improvement District (EBBID), was incorporated in the State of New York in 1983 by property owners, business leaders and area residents working in collaboration with the City of New York. Originally conceived as an organization that would complement and expand the real estate assistance, security and structural improvement services provided to businesses under the NYC Industrial Business Zone Program (IBZ), the EBBID’s mission is now more focused on providing core maintenance and supportive services.
This focus has become possible due to the fact that, over the past decades, the East Brooklyn Industrial Park has become a safer, better managed, and more effective place to do businesses. Many of the previously vacant parcels of land and buildings have been purchased and have either been developed or are in the process of being developed for industrial use. The EBBID is a 40-block area in East New York, Brooklyn that is bordered by Powell Street to the West, Atlantic Avenue to the North, Pennsylvania Avenue to the East, and Sutter Avenue to the South. In addition, the objectives of the EBBID are to enhance the business environment of the 40 block area and bolster local economic activity. The EBBID is constantly striving to make the area a safe, attractive, and vibrant place in which to live and do business. |
